Master Ken Tran is a certified Master Instructor by the World Taekwondo Federation, USA Taekwondo, and the Amateur Athletic Union. He currently is the most decorated male Taekwondo athlete in the dayton area. After being chosen to train at the Olympic Training Center, he went on to become a three-time state champion and three-time national medalist in Kyorugi (sparring) competition.
Master Tran is a lifetime student of Taekwondo and places great emphasis on the underlying philosophical principals surrounding Taekwondo. He demonstrates this belief by infusing strong basics, attention to the forms (poomse), but emphasizes sparring (kyorugi) strategy.
Aside from continuing his martial arts education under the tutelage of Grandmaster Luong Pham, he owns and operates Tran’s Martial Arts Center (T-MAC). Master Tran's goal is to make T-MAC the official dayton headquarters for all students aspiring to be black belts or future olympians. This is the primary reason for Master Tran's instruction and presence in every class. At Master Tran's level of expertise, this is extremely rare for him to teach and supervise all classes. T-MAC carries on the Olympic motto “Citius, Altius, Fortius”, which is Latin for "Faster, Higher, Stronger.”
